America’s perception of risk

Wednesday, 02 February 2011 11:05 Last Updated on Wednesday, 02 February 2011 11:05 Written by Eric Garland 0 Comments

I find it a bit disturbing that the potential for a snowfall in winter, albeit a potentially major one, garners fifteen hours of breathless television, while the notion of peak oil, resulting in ever higher fuel prices and permanently disrupting our global system of logistics, only gets fifteen seconds every six months or so.

The inability to perceive levels of risk seems grave to me.

That said, dig that storm cloud. It did look pretty awesome.
